About me

Originally from New York City, London has been my home for the past 26 years where I had and raised my 4 children.

When I was pregnant,  yoga classes were not as widely available as they are today. As a foreigner in London and far away from my family, I would have enjoyed going to a class where I could meet other mums-to-be/new mums and, at the same time, engage in a safe form of exercise. 

My goal as a pregnancy and post natal yoga teacher is to use yoga to (1) strengthen the  body with a challenging and safe yoga sequence, (2) facilitate a closer bond between mother and baby and (3) create a sense of community where my students can meet and share their experiences.

Becoming a mother, for some, can be an unfamiliar, confusing and isolating experience. In my yoga classes, there is equal emphasis on yoga and community: there is time in my class  to interact with other mums who can offer support and advise for the everyday challenges of being pregnant or having a newborn. 

I design my  classes to be  small so you receive individual attention. 

I enjoy getting to know my students and I aim to provide a supportive and welcoming environment.

It is advisable to begin yoga in pregnancy after 13 weeks.

It is advisable to join a post natal class 6 weeks after giving birth or 8 weeks in the event of a caesarean birth.

Classes

Pregnancy Yoga

  • A proactive practice that prepares you for giving birth

  • Slow and modified asanas help to open the body in preparation for birth

  • The movements strengthen birthing muscles

  • Over time you embody the practice and use it as a tool to take with you into the birthing room

  • Conscious use of breath to manage pain and anxiety

  • Builds the foundation for rapid post natal recovery

  • Provides an opportunity to meet other mums-to-be

It is advisable to begin yoga in  pregnancy  after 13 weeks.

Postnatal Yoga with Baby

For mums with non crawling babies

This class is for you. We will focus on the body post pregnancy and how yoga can promote post natal healing:

  • Strengthening the core

  • Addressing pelvic floor issues

  • Stabilizing the pelvis

  • Regaining vitality

You will also learn how yoga can help you adjust to motherhood and bond with your baby. We will engage with the baby through gentle touch, stretching and sound.

In addition to the yoga, my classes are a place where mums can meet other mums to connect with for advice and support with the daily challenges of raising a newborn.

During the class, you can feed the baby and change its nappy.

The babies add an element of chaos and noise - and that is ok because that is what babies do. All babies are welcome whether they are asleep or awake and lively.

It is advisable to join a post natal yoga class 6 weeks after giving birth or 8 weeks in the event of a caesarean birth.
